Soul ID

Soul ID is an Indonesian hip-hop and rap group formed in Jakarta. The group’s line-up current of Juanita Dewiana (Jaydee), Nurhadi Nugroho (TabibQiu) and Endru March Sukardi (EndrumarcH).

Career

2002-2007: Esoyuelaidi, Soulfidelis and Jiwa Raga

Soul ID had released debut studio album, entitled Esoyuelaidi by Rizky Records on 2002 and released hits single “Ladjoe”. After three years later, the group had working for second album and in suddenly member group had changed, due to rapper JiggyTime has accident car which forced to departure from this group and vocal Glenn Waas had departure for its group.

Soon after that, Soul ID gets arrival for two new personnel Jaydee and TabibQiu and began releasing officially in second studio album Soulfidelis on 2005 by EMI Music Indonesia^[1] with first hits single, titled “Idola”. After two years later, the group return releasing third studio album on 2007, entitled Jiwa Raga and producing two hits single “Branuday” and “Ini Rindu” which recycle song by Farid Hardja. Its album had listed for category Best Rap Album in 2008 Anugerah Musik Indonesia. In addition, vocalist Afrogil had left for its group due to unclear reasons.

2008-2010: The Collusion, Sex, Love & Philosophy and Like Love Life

Soul ID had released 2008 mini album which collaboration with Dmust Akira, titled The Collusion and in mini album, Jaydee became lead vocalist and helped by EndrumarcH as new rapper.

A year later, Soul ID had released their first-English language album Sex, Love & Philosophy on March 17 by Urban Deeper Underground Record. Its English album was released in CD format and LP. Their fifth studio album Like Love Life was released officially by 2313 Management and producing hits single “Boogie Time” which bring music for 70’s and also became an jingle for commercial IM3 Indosat, and “Telfon Aku”. Its album had earning MURI award for most music album with songs, are 36.^[2]

2012-present: International single and solo career

In 2012, Soul ID had collaboration to Japanese singer Jade for “Yakini”. Still same of year, the hip-hop group have performing and making music video in Japan.

In 2013, Soul ID return to releasing for single in middle of 2013, entitled “Berlari” during each member as solo artist. Its single making the group winning two Anugerah Musik Indonesia awards for Best Rap/Hip-Hop Production Work and Best Rap/Hip-Hop Producer in 2014. After that, the group had releasing full English-language single, titled “Go Low”, in digital.

In January 2015, Soul ID had releasing an surprise single “Jaswanabi” and it’s a unique blend between bossa nova and hip-hop.
