"Slam the Hammer Down" is a single from rock band Slade which appeared on the album The Amazing Kamikaze Syndrome and its U.S. counterpart album, titled Keep Your Hands Off My Power Supply.[1] It was written by lead singer Noddy Holder and bassist Jim Lea. The single was released in 1984 within the U.S. as a promotional single only. It was the third American and final American single from the album.[2]
The promo release via CBS was issued on 12" vinyl only, and contained two remixes (Hot Mix/Hotter Mix), both remixed by Shep Pettibone.[3]
The track was performed at the Montreux festival along with "Run Runaway" in 1984.[4]
In the September–December 1986 Slade fan club magazine, poll results were announced for the 1986 opinion poll based on Slade's material. For the best album track, "Slam the Hammer Down" placed at number three.
