Seven Decades
Seven Decades is an album by Hank Thompson released on July 18, 2000. The album's name reflects the length of Thompson's career as a musician.[1] It is the first album Thompson released on HighTone Records, and was produced by Lloyd Maines. Thompson described the music on the album as "just whatever I wanted to do" and said that each song had no intentional relationship to any of the others on the album.[2] The songs on Seven Decades are a mix of new originals, such as "Condo in Hondo," "Medicine Man" and "New Wine in Old Bottles," and old standards such as "Wreck of the Old 97".[2] Thompson said after the album's release that he felt better about it than anything he had done since "back in the old Capitol days."[3]
