Scenedesmus obliquus is a green algae species of the genus Scenedesmus notable for the genetic coding of its mitochondira which translate TCA as a stop codon and TAG as Leucine.[1] This code is repeesnted by NIMH translation table 22, Scenedesmus obliquus mitochondrial code.[2]
