Rajani (born Shashi Kaur Malhotra)[1] is an Indian film actress known for her works predominantly in Telugu cinema (as Rajani), Kollywood (as Sasikala), and a few Kannada and Malayalam films.[2]

She was starred in 150 feature films including, Seetharama Kalyanam, Rendu Rella Aaru, Aha Naa Pellanta opposite Rajendra Prasad, Majnu opposite Nagarjuna and Seetaramula Kalyanam opposite Balakrishna. She also starred in Kannada films including Jai Karnataka a remake of 1987 Bollywood hit Mr. India) with Ambareesh and Neenu Nakkare Haalu Sakkare with Vishnuvardhan. She was then starred in Bharathan's Malayalam hit Padheyam opposite Mammootty.[3][4]

Personal life

Rajani Praveen was born in Bengaluru to V. N. Malhotra, a Punjabi father and Sulochana, a Kannadiga mother.[5] She was married to an NRI Dr. Mullagiri Praveen.
