Saroj Pandey (Hindi: सरोज पांडे) is a politician and a member of Bharatiya Janata Party. She was elected to the 15th Lok Sabha from Durg.[1] In 2008, she was appointed as the national president of BJP Mahila Morcha (woman wing of Bharatiya Janata Party).[2] She has also held party positions at state level. On 8 December 2008, she won election as the first MLA of Vaishali Nagar, a newly formed Vidhan Sabha constituency in Chhattisgarh.[3] Prior to that, she was the mayor of Durg for two terms.[4]
She is a holder of World record for holding the post of a Mayor, M.L.A. and M.P. at the same time and this record is nominated for Guinness Book of World Records and Limca Book of Records; She also holds the record for having longest term as a Mayor from Durg, for continuous 10 yearsa and has also received the Best Mayor award.[5]
She made a prominent position in politics without any political background and family political history. She is served as a general secretary and spokes person of the party,then she holds the position of National Secretary of BJP then she serves as a President BJP Mahila Morcha. Currently she is National General Secretary retly of Bhartiya Janata Party.
