Sarıbalta (former Komer) is a village in the Çemişgezek district of Tunceli Province, Turkey. At 39°00′N 38°57′E / 39.000°N 38.950°E, it is situated at the north of the Keban Dam resorvoir. The distance to Çemişgezek is 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) and to Tunceli is 115 kilometres (71 mi). The population of Sarıbalta is 591 inhabitants[1] as of 2011. The town was founded by people from the Şakak tribe either from Diyarbakır or from Khorasan (a province in Iran).[2] Its main economic activity is sheep breeding.
