Sami Efendi (Ottoman Turkish: سامى افندي, Modern Turkish: Hattat Mehmet Sâmi Efendi) (1837-1912), was an Ottoman calligrapher. The Tughra found its definitive shape in the era of Abdulhamid II in the hands of Sami Efendi.[1]
