Samantha Johnson (born June 10, 1991)[1] is an American professional soccer defender who currently plays for Australian W-League club Melbourne Victory on loan from National Women's Soccer League club Chicago Red Stars.
Club career
Chicago Red Stars (NWSL)
In March 2014, Johnson joined Chicago Red Stars in the National Women's Soccer League for their preseason, after attending their 2014 Open Tryouts.[2] Johnson played 12 games and tallied one assist, before suffering from facial lacerations in a game against the Western New York Flash on June 18. This ended the rookie's season.[3]
Loan to Sydney FC
In September 2014, it was announced that Johnson was to be loaned to Sydney FC in the W-League (Australia).[4]
Loan to Melbourne Victory
In October 2016, Johnson was loaned to Melbourne Victory for the 2016–17 W-League season.[5][6]
Personal life
Johnson has a sponsorship for headbands.[7]
