Samia "Sam" Doumit (born April 24, 1975) is an American actress.

Early life

Doumit is of Irish, French, Lebanese, German, and Jewish descent (mother's side). Doumit was born in Boston, Massachusetts. She was a Dean's list and honor roll student at Emerson College in Boston before attending the California Institute of the Arts. Doumit's father was born in Lebanon, but left the country in 1967 for religious and political differences concerning the conflicts of the region at that time. She is a first-generation Lebanese American; her father emigrated to the U.S. from Beirut, Lebanon in 1967 after receiving a scholarship to the California State University at Sacramento. He became a citizen in the early 1980s. Her mother is American, born in Sacramento, California. Doumit's great-uncle is Nobel Peace Prize recipient Dr. Albert Schweitzer.[1]

Career

She appeared in the film The Hot Chick with Rob Schneider and Adam Sandler as well as in independent films like The Utopian Society with Austin Nichols, directed by John P. Aguirre. Doumit will star with Meg Ryan, 50 Cent, and John Lithgow in the 2011 feature film Lives of the Saints. She is featured in the Zed video clip "Starlight", included on The Hot Chick DVD. In 2010 she guest starred on ABC's Castle, Showtime's new series Shameless with William H. Macy, and The Mentalist on CBS. Doumit starred opposite Blair Underwood and Heather Locklear in the series finale of LAX. She starred with Jason Bateman in The Jake Effect. She played "Maggie", a recurring character on Disney's Honey, I Shrunk the Kids: The TV Show. The show was shot in Alberta, Canada. Doumit appeared with her friend Jeremy Sisto and also Virginia Madsen on the two season finale episodes of Dawson's Creek. She previously appeared with Jeremy Sisto and friends Ethan Embry, Erik Michael Cole and Brandi Emma in the film Little Savant. In the CSI episode "Suckers" she showed her pierced tongue which is also seen in the Starlight video. Doumit notably stretched her range as an actress in 2009 starring on Southland as a drug addled prostitute.

Doumit began acting on stage at age 5. She has performed in over 30 professional plays including "Bonnie" in Hurlyburly, "Laura" in The Glass Menagerie and "Juliet" in Romeo and Juliet. She played a stage actress in KY2 in 2000 and in October 2005, she performed "Not to Fear" in the Half-Hour From Home: Cal-Arts Alumni at Barnsdall (organized by Cal-Arts) with Erik Contreras, Tony Nazem and Rainbow Underhill. In 2006, she played "Kate" in Shakespeare's play The Taming of the Shrew in at the Lillian Theatre in Los Angeles, directed by her husband Erik Contreras. Her husband's direction and her portrayal of "Kate" was well received and both were featured in an interview and article for Estylo Magazine celebrating the performance. Doumit is currently in the long running hit Jewtopia at The Greenway Court Theatre in Los Angeles.

According to IMDB Doumit is the face of the SuicideGirls logo. Doumit married Erik Contreras on September 3, 2005.

She currently hosts "Suicide Girls Radio" every Sunday night on Indie 103.1.
