S Ramachandran[2] (born on 11 March 1972) is an Indian film director. He had directed few of the popular series of music videos made by Mauj Music, starring Asha Bhosle and a string of celebrities called Asha And Friends. S Ramachandran directed the music videos with Asha Bhosle, Sanjay Dutt, Brett Lee, Urmila Matondkar and popular television show Zee Sa re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs.

Early years and personal life

Ramachandran was born in Kolkatta at the Saradadevi hospital at the Ramakrishna Mission on Saturday, March 11, 1972. He was born to Krishnaveni and VS Srinivasan. Srinivasan was working in the Indian Express Newspaper in Mumbai.

Ramachandran's early life was full of struggles. Ramachandran had delved into various vocations for pocket money and survival earlier. Right from delivering milk and newspapers in his childhood, he also started giving tuitions to younger children to pay for his school fees among other things after his father was hospitalised with a bad filarial attack and the company Indian Express had a forced lockout due to the Union leader Datta Samant. Ramachandran schooled at the SIWS school where he did his primary and secondary apart from higher secondary education. He then joined the SIWS NR Swamy College of Commerce and Economics to complete his graduation through the prestigious Bombay University. Ramachandran was an avid cultural and sports person and won several contests in the cultural, academics, literature and the sports area in the college and intercollegiate activities.

Ramachandran is married to Sonal Ramachandran with whom he has a daughter.

Career

Ramachandran started his career working with Mid day as journalist. He also worked for The Indian Express, Bombay Tribune, NDTV India and NDTV 24x7, Zee News, Zoom Television, Mauj Music, Surge Entertainment before he began his companies Sanskriti Media and Entertainment on February 1, 2007 and Brandstand in 2011.

S Ramachandran has been a part of many films till date in different capacities. He was involved in Pooja Bhatt's film Holiday heading the marketing and PR for the film. He was also involved in Pooja Bhatt's path breaking film Jism 2 starring Sunny Leone in which he looked after the marketing and PR for the film and also handled the making of the movie using both his companies Sanskriti Media and Entertainment and Brandstand.

Ramachandran then has associated as a PR with other films like the Hollywood film Righteous Kill starring Robert Di Niro and Al Pacino when it released in India. He has also handled PR for films like Ram Gopal Varma's The Attacks of 26/11 and Satya 2. He has also done PR for commercial masala potboiler films liker Jeena Hai To Thok Daal, Dee Saturday Night, Nasha, Jackpot Kaalo and the Barbara Mori film La Mujer De Mi Hermano when it released in India as Spanish Beauty.

He also handled the final PR for the film Children of War post its release and for its international exploitation. He also handled Marketing, PR and distribution for other films like The Blueberry Hunt and Aalaap.

S Ramachandran[3] was also the director of the popular series of music videos made by Mauj Music, starring Asha Bhosle and a string of celebrities called Asha And Friends. S Ramachandran directed[4] the music videos with Asha Bhosle, Sanjay Dutt, Brett Lee, Urmila Matondkar and popular television show Zee Sa re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs. Ramachandran also directed other music videos[5] with Ismail Darbar, Zubeen Garg and Neetu Chandra called Rasiya Saajan, with Akhil Kumar and Ankeeta Mukherji for the Asha Bhosle album Precious Platinum which was chosen as the 37th most popular album in the world. He also shot a music video for singer Madhushree. Ramachandran also directed a few beauty pageants on television like the Akshar Elementa Fashion show, the Fact Miss Teen contest, the Fact Supermodel contest etc.

Ramachandran also produced the highly acclaimed short film Talk To Me which was sent to several festivals. He was also the producer of the now shelved film Imaandaari ki Maa Ki Aankh whose mahurat clap was given by Pooja Bhatt. He is also the associate producer on the film Doctor I Love You which is set for release this year.

Ramachandran also directed a few beauty pageants on television like the Akshar Elementa Fashion show, the Fact Miss Teen contest, the Fact Supermodel contest etc. Ramachandran has also written shows like Bol Bachchan anchored by Suresh Menon on ETC, Salt and Pepper anchored by Paras Tomar on Zee Music alias Zing.

Ramachandran was at Zoom Television Networks as a creative Head of Zoom Television and a Programming Head for a new channel called Zoom Spice. He launched several shows like Planet Bollywood, The Rakhi Sawant Shows and also continued to help shows like Popkorn and Page 3 apart from other popular shows on Zoom like Red Hot Countdown etc
