Early life and career
Sheikh Muhammad Sadiq (S.M.Sadiq) was born in Faisalabad, Punjab, Pakistan. He completed only upto 4th grade education in the primary school.[2] His talent was so much God-gifted, that despite being uneducated, he wrote thousands of songs. He started his career early in his life as a young man and built his way up from there. He first made his big breakthrough in the music field by showing Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan one of his songs and convincing him to record it in Faisalabad, Pakistan. Nusrat liked the song very much and sang it back in 1982 and it ended up being one of his top hit qawwali songs. Writer S M Sadiq's name is mentioned in that song and he gained a lot of recognition from that song.[2] His poetry sung by Ustaad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan attained such popularity which other poets can only envy. He has been in this field for more than 35 years in 2016.
