Ryan Royce Long (born 26 February 1979) is an American event producer and philanthropist.[1]

He is known for his involvement in award shows and fundraising events in the Los Angeles area.[2][3]

Early career

Long began his career in the early 2000s as a club promoter for several Los Angeles nightclubs. In 2008, he started the company Live Music Showcase, a platform created to promote musicians and talent at Hollywood venues. LMS began at the House of Blues in Hollywood and later spread nationwide through a partnership with Hard Rock Cafe, producing music showcases at all Hard Rock venues. Long then left LMS to begin producing non profit fundraisers.

Major Events

Fame at the Mansion

In 2012, Long executive produced his first major event. Taking place at the Playboy Mansion in Holmby Hills, Los Angeles, the event, known as Fame at the Mansion, served as a breakthrough award ceremony for Long. Hosted by Sean Combs, the award ceremony honored Playboy founding father Hugh Hefner as Humanitarian of the Year, and was attended by several celebrities including, Craig Robinson, Evan Ross, Teyana Taylor, Jenny McCarthy, Pamela Anderson, Paris Hilton, and Lisa D'Amato. Combs was quoted on Jimmy Kimmel Live as saying it was the "best party he has ever thrown."

Fame and Philanthropy

In 2014, Long created a charity speaker series on the evening of the 86th Academy Awards known as Fame and Philanthropy.[4][5] This ceremony featured a keynote address from director James Cameron. Proceeds went to the creation of Community Inspiring Today's Youth and helped to fund their first two fiscal years.[6] Fame and Philanthropy was attended by Charlize Theron, Halle Berry, Sean Penn, and featured a musical performance from Ne-Yo.[7][8]

unite4: humanity

According to an interview with The Hollywood Reporter,[9] Long "played a role" in organizing the first and inaugural unite4:humanity award ceremony. The unite4: humanity event was hosted by former US President Bill Clinton and awards were given to celebrities including Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Robert De Niro. The event was the launching platform for unite4: good, a non-profit organization.[10]

CITY Gala

Since the Fame and Philanthropy event in 2014,[11] Long has produced events benefiting Los Angeles based non-profit, Community Inspiring Today's Youth or CITY. The annual event known as CITY Gala, features an award ceremony and speaker series featuring celebrity moguls, magnates, and cynosures. The 2016 CITY Gala,[12] featured a keynote speech from businessman Richard Branson and honored astronaut Buzz Aldrin. Other honorees included John Paul DeJoria, Jane Seymour and 98 Degrees member Jeff Timmons. Sean Combs was the featured host and emcee.[13]

Causes

Long supports several non-profit organizations and has helped fundraising efforts for charities including The Angelwish Foundation, The CITY, The Trust For Public Lands Hollywood Sign Project, and A New Dimension of Hope.[14]
