Runni Saidpur is a town and a block located in Sitamarhi district, Bihar, India. It is situated on the southern bank of the Lakhandei River. National Highway 22, the main national highway connecting Sonbarsa-Muzaffarpur-Hajipur-Patna-Gaya-Chandwa, National Highway 22 passes through Runni Saidpur. Thus it is a gateway to Sitamarhi and parts of Nepal.
This town is basically a block headquarters. Even though it is managed by gram panchayats, it is far more developed than many small towns run by nagar panchayat. This is far bigger than Belsand which is a nearby sub-division. Runni is the name of another village which is a mile south of it. The name of the block is combinedly Runni Saidpur. In the early days this area had a large number of mango orchards.
Geography
The village is situated between Lakhandei river in the north and the Bagmati river to the south. This area has been hit by flood many times, though the land is very fertile. It is basically gangetic plain with alluvial soil. The whole area lies to the south of the Someswar mountain range of the southern Himalayas in the north and the holy Ganges in the south. Summer is moderate and the winter is chilling cold. Runni Saidpur is located at 26°22′59″N 85°29′00″E / 26.383°N 85.4833°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 47 metres (154 ft).
The Runni Saidpur block lies in the southwest corner of the Sitamarhi district. It is bordered by the Belsand and Parsauni blocks to the northwest, Dumra to the north, Bajpatti to the northeast, and Nanpur to the east. On the south, it borders the Minapur and Aurai blocks of the Muzaffarpur district.
Culture
It is located at the confluence of Mithila, Vajji (Licchvians) and Bhojpur region of Bihar. Most of the people are either Maithils or Vajji but their culture is deeply affected by Bhojpur also. Languages spoken are Hindi, English, Bajjika (Vajjika), Bhojpuri and Maithili. The local people used to speak Bajjika which resembles Maithili, Bhojpuri and Hindi—a consequence of its location being surrounded by these languages. Sama is a famous winter festival conducted by girls for the pleasure of their brothers. A major cultural event is the marriage ceremonies in this area which take much preparation and many cultural rituals.BaluShahi is a famous sweet of this area.People here give much importance to their relatives and guests are treated very warmly.
Festivals
The major festival of this area is Chhath Puja in which people offer prayers to Lord Sun. Holi, Diwali, Dussehra, Makar Sankranti, Eid and Christmas are celebrated.
Crops
The main food crops are rice, wheat and maize. The area is also a major producer of sugar cane, tobacco and other cash crops. Lentils, sunflowers and mustard are also grown.
Fruits
This area is famous for litchi sahi and china. There are large numbers of mango and litchi orchards in this area. Export of these litchi bring a much foreign currency into the country. At the same time it is boosting the economy of the whole area.
Market
The area can be called the wholesale market of southern Sitamarhi. The balusahi (locals say balsahi) of Runni Saidpur is famous across India and is supplied as far as Delhi.There are many hotels and cloth shop around the area and also a cinema hall which mostly features bhojpuri films but since there are many fans of salman khan too, so you won't miss a salman khan film released lately.There is also a big hanumaan mandir on the bank of lakhandei river before the lakhandei bridge.On the bus stand, you will find the conductors shouting for Muzaffarpur and Sitamarhi.

The town is 35 kilometres (22 mi) from Muzaffarpur, which is the biggest town of north Bihar and 25 kilometres (16 mi) from Sitamarhi, its district headquarters.

Trains runs between Sitamarhi to muzaffarpur via runnisaidpur since inauguration of Runnisaidpur- Muzaffarpur rail line on 26th march2013. Runni Saidpur is connected to Sitamarhi and Muzaffarpur. A large number of trains run from Muzaffarpur Junction to most parts of India.

- Janki Mandir at Janki Asthan: 25 kilometres (16 mi). It is located in the western part of Sitamarhi. The temple is nearly 100 years old.
- Punaura Dham :25 kilometres (16 mi). It is the birthplace of the Goddess Sita. It is said that once Raja Janak ploughed the field for rain. It is declared a Religious Tourist Spot by the government of Bihar.
