Roland A. Cowell was an American football, basketball, and baseball coach. He served as the head football coach at Northern Illinois University from 1926 to 1928, compiling a record of 6–11–3. Cowell was also the head basketball coach at Northern Illinois from 1926 to 1929 and the head baseball coach at the school from 1927 to 1929. Prior to his tenure at Northern Illinois, Cowell served as head coach at Mississippi where he compiled a record of 8–11–1 from 1922 to 1923.
