Research Center for Modeling and Simulation

The Research Center for Modeling and Simulation (RCMS) is the central multidisciplinary institute of National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), established at the NUST campus in 2007 as a center for advanced scientific computing. RCMS started offering MS courses in "Fluid Flow and Structures" and "Computational Infrastructures and Visualization" in 2008. Since 2010, NUST has also started PhD programs in areas such as Systems Biology, Bioinformatics, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and Software Engineering. RCMS also houses a ‘Super Computing Research and Education Center (SCREC)’ facility at its campus, which is a GPU-based cluster with peak performance of 132 Teraflops. RCMS is divided into two departments, i.e. Computational Sciences Department and Computational Engineering Department. Computational Sciences Department offers teaching and research specializations in Bioinformatics, Computational Chemistry, Drug Design, and Statistics. Computational Engineering Department offers specializations in Signal Processing and Communication, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Avionics, Biomedical Engineering and Software Engineering.
