Relative deprivation thesis

The relative deprivation thesis is a theory used to explain the support base of far-right political parties. According to relative deprivation thesis individuals support far-right political parties due to frustrations arising from feelings of relative deprivation compared to comparisons with one's own past or comparisons with a social reference group.^[1]
