Rebekah Gibbs (17 March 1973 – 11 November 2014) was an English television and musical theatre actress.
Born in Torquay, Devon, Gibbs attended, Cockington Primary School, Torquay Academy and the Doreen Bird College of Performing Arts in Sidcup. She appeared in such West End musical productions as Starlight Express, Grease, and Fame before landing the part of Nina Farr, a paramedic, in Casualty in 2004. Gibbs played paramedic Nina Farr for more than 100 episodes of the BBC medical drama between 2004 and 2006.[1]
She left Casualty to start a family and was just weeks away from giving birth when she first noticed a lump in her breast. After chemotherapy and radiotherapy and a double mastectomy, she was given the all-clear after five years in 2013. A few months later, she had a seizure while on holiday in Devon. Gibbs was taken to hospital and told the cancer had spread to her brain and lungs; she died at a hospice in Pembury, Kent.[2]
She is survived by her husband, Ashley Pitman, and their daughter, Gigi, born 2008.[3][4]
