It was dedicated to the Conejo Recreation and Park District by its developer, Shapell Industries, in 1997.[4][5] Rancho Conejo Playfields is home to the primary trailhead for the Arroyo Conejo Trail, which separates into various local trails following Arroyo Conejo, leading to Wildwood Regional Park in Thousand Oaks, Mountclef Ridge in Santa Rosa Valley, La Branca and Hill Canyon. The trails are utilized for hiking, horseback-riding, and mountain biking.[6][7][8]
