Ramlal Akela (born 21 January 1953) represents Bachhrawan vidhansabha of Raebareli as the member of legislative assembly.[1][2] He is an Indian politician and Member of the Samajwadi Party.[3]
Early life and Education
Ramlal Akela was born in an extremely poor dalit family, due to extreme poorness, every member of Akela family used to do labour in order to survive and fight poverty. Of the six brothers, Akela was comparatively the most talented, en-courageous and humanitarian since childhood. Akela got his primary Education in a primary school of his village.
Career
After completing his higher education, he worked as an assembly operator in Indian telephonic industries. Possessing higher degree of leadership capability, akela was also selected as the union secratory of ITI.
Ambedkar Samajotthan Mission
During his service period in ITI, Akela laid the foundation of Ambedkar Samajotthan Mission in 1980, inorder to help dalits.
Leadreship
Inspired by the works of Indira Gandhi, Akela took the membership of the Indian National Congress in 1982. Influenced by his capabilities, the party appointed him as the chairman of the SC/ST Community Of Uttar Pradesh.
Despite his numerous works, he did not receive the desired motivation and respect, after which he left the congress in 1991. He then acquired the membership of samajwadi party , the party which respects the membersa as well as promotes the ideology of socialism, and was made the general secratory of the district Raebareli . During this period in the year of 1993 Akela contested the election from Bacchrawan legislative assembly against sitting MLA of Congress Rajaram tyagi, but lost by the minor difference of 3000 votes.
Influenced by the stamina of Akela, Sp supreemo Mulayam Singh Yadav gave him the ticket from legislative assembly of Bacchrawan in 2002, his times Ramlal Akela won by defeating the congress MLA who contested against him. But again in 2007, he lost the legislative assembly election with a minute difference in votes. Consecutively, third time , in 2012 Akela was made the SP contestant by Mulayam Singh Yadav, And Akela proved to be a winner again by acquiring huge no of votes. Overjoyed by the victory in the region of congress, CM Akhilesh yadav awarded Ramlal Akela with the post of chairman of the SC/St Community in U.P .
Controversy
Akela political life had been full of struggle, but he crossed every milestone and continued to progress in his political path. Many rebels in raebareli tried to bring him down, only resulting in failure and watching their attempts going in vain.[4]
In 2014 Parliamentary election he has appealed to people of his constituency through media to opt for NOTA. Akela is busy in party’s candidate’s election in Unnao and has asked party workers in Bachhrawan to spread his appeal among masses. Akela said he SP has done the Congress a favour by not fielding a candidate against Sonia but the party leadership never asked party workers to vote for the Congress.[5]
