R Ajay Gnanamuthu, is an Indian Film Director and Screenwriter working primarily in Tamil Cinema. He started his career assisting Producer-Filmmaker AR Murugadoss in Tamil films 7aum Arivu and Thuppakki.[2] In 2015, He Debuted as a Director with his Horror-Thriller film Demonte Colony,[3] which was received well by critics and the audience. It was declared a SuperHit at the Box-office.
Personal life
Ajay completed his schooling at St. John's High School, Bangalore and later joined Loyola College, Chennai.[4] During his College days as a student of the Visual Communication Department he loved making a lot of short films.[5] He also completed a Digital Filmmaking Diploma in SAE Institute, Chennai simultaneously.
Career
Ajay was selected to contest in the Short Film making show, Naalaya Iyakunar Season-1 in 2010 where he finished as one of the finalists. He then joined acclaimed Filmmaker AR Murugadoss [6] and worked in Tamil films 7aum Arivu and Thuppakki.[7] His pursuit to be an independent filmmaker succeeded with the release of Demonte Colony in 2015 that became a box-office hit.
