Quislet is a DC Comics fictional character, and a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes during the 30th century. Quislet was co-created by writer Paul Levitz and artist Steve Lightle.
Fictional character biography
Quislet, whose real name was an unpronounceable glyph, was a microscopic energy-being from the alternate dimension of Teall (pronounced "tee-AWL"), who flew around in a tiny spaceship. The Teallian civilization had devoted all its resources into building the ship with which to explore reality; although he (Quislet was often referred to as "he," despite lacking gender, or, indeed, physicality) told the Legion that he was an explorer selected by his people, the truth is that Quislet stole the ship and fled through an interdimensional portal.
Quislet was able to emerge from his ship and "possess" inanimate objects, reshaping them on a second-by-second basis and thereby bestowing upon them mobility; however, these objects would disintegrate after, at most, several minutes of "possession", a process which was only accelerated if he abandoned the object prematurely. The only object not affected by this phenomenon was Quislet's ship, because it was apparently not made from baryonic matter. Quislet helped fellow Legionnaire Wildfire form a solid corporeal body, eliminating his need for a containment suit for a short time.
Eventually Quislet's ship was destroyed by the Emerald Empress, and he was forced to return to Teall, where he was captured. His ultimate fate is unknown; Teallian actions on previous occasions would seem to indicate that they were intent on destroying his personality, which would be equivalent to an execution.
Post-Zero Hour
Quislet did not appear in the Legion reboot after the Zero Hour event, nor was he in the 2005 reimagining/reboot of the Legion.
Post-Infinite Crisis
The events of the Infinite Crisis miniseries have apparently restored a close analogue of the Pre-Crisis on Infinite Earths Legion to continuity, as seen in "The Lightning Saga" story arc in Justice League of America and Justice Society of America, and in the "Superman and the Legion of Super-Heroes" story arc in Action Comics. A statue of Quislet was seen in Final Crisis: Legion of Three Worlds #1. At the end of the series, he is listed among those Legionnaires declared missing as the Legion begins a search for their former comrades.
As revealed in Adventure Comics (vol. 2) #8, Quislet is part of a secret team sent by the late RJ Brande to the 21st century to save the future in the Last Stand of New Krypton storyline. According to Mon-El, he posed as a "hover-cam". As he did this for an extended period, his disintegration problem may have been solved, possibly by Brainiac 5. He is also shown to have a new ship.
