Prem Prakash Pandey is a Bharatiya Janata Party Member of the Legislative Assembly from Bhilai Nagar in Chhattisgarh. He has served as the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Chhattisgarh from December 2003 to January 2009. He was appointed as a Cabinet Minister in the Government of Chhattisgarh headed by Dr. Raman Singh. He is minister of Revenue & Rehabilitation, Higher Education, Technical Education, Man Power Planning, Science & Technology [1] [2][3][4]
Early life
Prem Prakash Pandey was born on 8 March 1958 in Bhurwar, Thana-Bankata, District- Deoria, Uttar Pradesh. He has always believed in the nation-building ideology of Bharatiya Janata Party.
Political Life
Prem Prakash Pandey began his political career in 1976 when he was pursuing education. In 1977 he was secretary of BJP Bhilai then In 1978 he was elected as the president of Akhil Bhartiya Vidhyarthi Parishad. And became the Secretary of Student's Union of Pt. Ravishankar University, Raipur, in 1979.
After this followed his Political journey wherein 1987, he became the General Secretary BJP Dist. Durg. Next milestone earned by him was being elected as a Member of Legislative Assembly of Undivided Madhyapradesh, in 1990. Then he catered as the State Minister of Higher Education for two years (1991 – 92).
In 1993, he became an Elected Member of Legislative Assembly and later in 1995, he was elected as Executive Member of BJP Yuva Morcha. A commendable milestone that he earned was to be elected as the Speaker Of Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha, on 22nd Dec.2003
