Poviglio is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Reggio Emilia in the Italian region Emilia-Romagna, located about 70 kilometres (43 mi) northwest of Bologna and about 20 kilometres (12 mi) northwest of Reggio Emilia. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 6,803 and an area of 43.7 square kilometres (16.9 sq mi).[1]
The municipality of Poviglio contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Case Molinara, Case Motta, Case San Francesco, Case Via Piccola, Fodico, Godezza, Gruara, La Maestà, Oratorio Zamboni, Enzola and San Sisto.
Poviglio borders the following municipalities: Boretto, Brescello, Castelnovo di Sotto, Gattatico.
