Polygamy in Syria

Polygamy in most of Syria is legal, and men may have up to four wives.[1] However, after the outbreak of the Syrian Civil War, the Kurdish Rojava region gained independence and outlawed polygamy in the parts of northern Syrian that they de facto control.[2]
