Peter Khalil is an Australian politician. He is the member for Wills in the Australian House of Representatives. He is a member of the Australian Labor Party.[1]

Early Life

Khalil's parents came to Australia from Egypt in 1970 and his early life was spent growing up in an inner city Melbourne housing commission. He went on to study Law and Arts at the University of Melbourne and a Masters of International Law from the Australian National University. A former tennis professional, he competed on the ITF tour during 1995-98 [2]

Political Career

Khalil was preselected as the Australian Labor Party candidate for the federal Division of Wills at the 2016 federal election. He assumed office as the new member for seat on 2 July 2016 and succeeded the previous member, Kelvin Thomson.
