Peoples’ Resurgence and Justice Alliance is political party in the Indian state of Manipur. The party was founded in 2016 by Irom Sharmila. The party was launched after ending a hunger strike on 9 August 2016 which lasted for 16 years of fasting. The major aim of the party is to end the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act in the state of Manipur.[1][2][3][4]
The Alliance conformed that Sharmila will contest from two Assembly constituencies of Khurai and Khangabok, along with two other candidates including PRJA convener Erendro Leichonbam from Thangmeiband and Phundreimayum Najima who is the first ever Muslim lady contesting in Manipur Legislative Assembly elections from Wabagai constituency. Khangabok is the home constituency of Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh.
