Pekapoo
Peekapoos are a cross breed between a Pekingese and a poodle. Like the parent breeds, Peekapoos can be friendly, affectionate dogs. Like poodles, they can be easy to train, and like other small breeds can live 12 to 15 years or older. Legitimate breed associations such as the AKC, the UKC, and the CKC, do not recognize the Peekapoo, or any other designer cross, as a breed.
Appearance
They are small dogs with mop like hair of varying colors including black, white, brown, and tri-colored. Pekapoos that have inherited a poodle coat may be hypo-allergenic and itch.
Origin: U.S.A. Size: Small
Height: 9–10 inches (23–25.5 cm)
Weight: 9–20 pounds (4–9 kg) ideally should not weigh above 14 pounds.
Temperament
Like Pekinese, Pekapoos may be protective of their owners and may growl or attempt to nip. They can also bite when people or other animals come near their food. They can be slightly timid and uncomfortable around strangers.Like many small dogs, Pekapoos' barks can be loud and noisy. They tend to "warning bark" at strangers, other dogs, or suspicious noises.
Environment
Peekapoos have been known to overheat next to a roaring fire.
Grooming
Pekapoos need occasional brushing, and they should be bathed at least once a month. Their coat grows relatively fast, so trimming is needed. Their nails should be clipped or filed regularly.
