Patrick Hughes (singer)

Patrick Hughes is an Irish musician.

Riverdance

Patrick joined Riverdance's new Lagan Company in 1997 as a bass singer, premiering in Vancouver Canada, touring North America until early 2000. In 1998, he became an onstage drummer with the company.

Anúna

From 2002-2006, Patrick became part of the successful Irish choral group, Anúna. With the group, he performed in the US, Japan, Morocco and all over Europe. He contributed to the recording of seven albums, including two albums released for the American market: 'Celtic Origins' (2007) (http://www.elevationgrp.com/anuna/index2.html) and 'Christmas Kisses'(2008). He also performed as part of the associated PBS special TV presentation for Celtic Origins, appearing on numerous PBS stations in interview with other group members.

Journalism

Patrick began his journalistic career at Dublin's FM104 as a newsreader. He went on to become studio producer of Radio Ireland (now Today FM)'s breakfast show 'Daybreak'. He has written for numerous print and online publications, including America's noted Irish website celticcafe.com, Sunday Times, Irish Times, Irish Independent, GCN and on his own website.
