Parminder Singh Dhindsa is an Indian politician and belongs to the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal. He is Minister for Finance & Planning in the present Punjab Government.[1]
Early life
His father Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa is Akali Dal General Secretary, former Union minister and Rajya Sabha member.[2] He has studied MBA and B Com.[3] He is married to Gagandeep Kaur Dhindsa.[4]
Political career
He was elected to the Punjab Legislative Assembly in 2002 on a Akali Dal ticket from Sunam for first time.[5][6] He was re-elected from Sunam in 2007 and 2012.[7][8] In 2007, he was made cabinet minister and given portfolio of PWD. After 2012 elections, he was made minister of finance as predecessor Upinderjit Kaur lost her elections.[2]
