Parivrtta Parsvakonasana is an Asana. It is translated as Revolved Side Angle Pose from Sanskrit.[2]

The name of this pose comes from "parivrtta" meaning "revolved", "parsva" meaning "side", "kona" meaning "angle" , and "asana" meaning "posture" or "seat".[3]

Benefits and Cautions

Benefits of this pose include: opening of the chest, stimulating of the internal organs, strengthening of the back, releasing the tension in the spine and building a sense of balance.[4][5]

Be cautious while practicing this pose if you have: high blood pressure, headaches, knee injuries, ankle injuries, neck injuries, shoulder injuries, or hip injuries.[6]
