Parasuram is a 2003 Tamil language film starring Arjun Sarja, Abbas, Goundamani, Kiran Rathod, Gayathri Raguram and others. The film entails the efforts of Officer Parasuram (Arjun) against Akash, a terrorist who converts the youth of India into suicide bombers.
Plot
An underground terror group led by a mysterious proxy Akash recruits unemployed youth and turns them into suicide bombers. Asst. Commissioner of Police Parashuram (Arjun) decides to take the case (and the film) into his own hands in a fit of patriotic fervour. In a subsequent fit of wisdom, he hides a key witness (Gayathri Raghuram) at the home of his flaky fiancee (Kiran), thereby endangering both and his anti-terror mission in general.

Production
The film was initially launched under the title Ashoka with Shaji Kailas as director. Later he was removed from the film as Arjun was not satisfied with his work with Arjun himself taking the reins of directorial. The film's title was changed as Parasuram.[1]

The score and soundtrack were composed by music maestro A.R. Rahman. The re-recording for background score was done by Pravin Mani himself as stated by Rahman & credited in the movie. The soundtrack is regarded as average by Rahman's standard.[2]
