Panjagutta is a commercial and residential area in western Hyderabad, India.[1][2] The area contains IT hubs, shopping malls and jewellery shops. It has become a major transit point for traffic to and from the Hyderabad districts of Ameerpet, Banjara hills, Somajiguda and Khairtabad. Twin flyovers across the road junction are helping ease the previously heavy traffic flow.[3]
The name Panjagutta means hand-mountain in Telugu, after a nearby peak that is reputedly topped by a largely self supporting boulder marked by the hand-print of Imam Ali.
Commerce
Many commercial establishments have come up in this area. Big malls such as the Hyderabad Central, Home town, BrassLeaf(Complete Fashion store for Men) and many others are present here. The PVR Cinemas a well known theater is present in Hyderabad Central mall. There are many Jewellery shops along the junction towards Somajiguda circle. Punjagutta being a centre for traffic going towards faces heavy traffic-jams especially during the evening hours. The new flyovers have eased the traffic to a certain extent. The Punjagutta police station at the crossroads is a well known landmark. NIMS, a famous government hospital is located here. The better known stores like Joyalukkas Jewellery, Tanishq, Mangatrai, Orra Diamond jewels, TBZ jewels, Josalukkas Jewels, Kalyan Jewelers, Mor Jewelers, Reliance jewels, Kalakunj Sarees, Aakarshan Sarees, Kalaniketan Wedding Mall, Ladida Lingerie Store,www.loveladida.com, Khazana Jewels, GRT Jewelers, Malabar gold, Himalaya Book World, Centro Shoes, Metro Shoes, Lagan wedding store, and many more are located in this part of Hyderabad. In its vicinity there are many departmental stores like Splash, Lifestyle, Shopperstop, Westside etc. You Can also shop for Consumer Electronics at Bajaj Electronic, Croma, LG Etc. Major Banks Like HDFC, ICICI, Standard Chartered, Axis Bank, etc. are located here.

The buses run by TSRTC connect Panjagutta to all parts of the city. There is also a mini-bus service called Setwin service. The closest MMTS Train station is at Begumpet. BSNL office is situated in Durganagar colony.
