Pallapatti is a panchayat town in Karur district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
Demographics & Culture
As of Census 2011, population of Pallapatti is 30,624.[2] Males constitute 49% of the population and females 51%. Pallapatti has an average literacy rate of 82%, it is higher than the national average of 74.04%. In Pallapatti, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age. The main religion followed in Pallaptti is Islam.It is having 99% People of Muslims and Remaining 1% is of Hindus and Christians.People of Pallapatti are well known for establishing business and trade all over India.
Climate
The highest temperature is obtained in early May to early June usually about 34 °C, though it rarely exceeds 38 °C for a few days. Average daily temperature during January is around 23 °C, though the temperature rarely falls below 17 °C.
The average annual rainfall is about 855 mm. The city gets most of its seasonal rainfall from the north-east monsoon winds, from late September to mid November.
Festivals
- Ramzan and Bakr-Id are the festivals that greatly celebrated here. People use to gather in 'Eidgah' to perform the Salat al Eid (Eid prayers) for Eid ul-Fitr and Eid al-Adha.

- One of the other Local festival which celebrated here for more than week is Shaikh Abdul Kadir Oli-ul-ah Uruse, This festival celebrate at evening to till Morning 5O'clock, Much of Temporary Shops and Amusements Setup for this festival.

Pallapatti is located in-between Karur and Dindigul. Karur to Pallpatti is of 37 km of travelling where as Pallapatti to Dindigul is of 47 km.
- Bus: There is a frequent bus transport between Karur busstand to Pallapatti between 03:30 hrs to 23:40 hrs and from Dindigul busstand also there is a frequent transport between 04:00 hrs to 23:00 hrs. Also there is direct buses from chennai to pallapatti.
- Nearest Railway Station: Karur - 37 km and Dindigul 47 km. From Chennai there are 5 trains to Karur, Daily night trains are Mangalore Mail from Chennai Egmore and Palani Express from Chennai Central. All major trains going to south tamil nadu from chennai stop in Dindigul railyway station.
