Paddy Brennan (jockey)
Paddy Brennan (born 13 April 1981)[1] is an Irish jockey who rode the winner of the Cheltenham Gold Cup in 2010. Also winner on Cue Card.
Early Life
A native of Ardrahan, County Galway, Brennan was a keen GAA player with dreams of becoming a county hurler. He only became involved in horseracing after a neighbour noticed his talent with hunt horses. He was apprenticed to trainer Jim Bolger, and moved to Paul Nicholls's UK stable in 2000.
Career
In the 2004/05 season he became champion conditional jockey.[2]
On 19 March 2010 he won the Cheltenham Gold Cup on Imperial Commander.
On the 16th of November 2016 he rode his 1,000th winner on Colin's Sister at Warwick.[3]
