Exclaim! gave the album a mixed review, finding it "Almost too mellow at times to be one of [Kid606's] records, the music really is a treat to listen to". The review described the song "Twirl" as a track that "never sounds fully complete through its six minutes" while "Sometimes" was the "absolute gem of the album".[5] Allmusic described the album as "a refreshing change" from kid606's previous works.[1]

In a review to the remix album PS You Love Me, Pitchfork Media stated that with PS I Love You, "Kid proved to the world that he had processing and compositional skills to rank him amongst the heavy hitters of the genre. Either that, or he proved that glitch music was easy to make."[2]
