Reception
At Metacritic, which assigns a weighted average score out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, Own Your Ghost received an average score of 74% based on 12 reviews, indicating "generally favorable reviews".[1]
Brian Howe of Pitchfork Media said: "It's still a neat project with many moments of interest, but it's disappointing that the second album doesn't cohere overall any better than the first."[7] Meanwhile, James Atherton of Drowned in Sound said: "Whether Own Your Ghost cheats the concept it’s chosen or fades into obscurity, it’s impossible not to admire the dedication and commitment to an aesthetic that both parties clearly believe in."[4]
