Program History
The program in its current state began in the 1976, although a women's basketball team had existed at the school in some capacity since 1898 (when the school was Oregon Agricultural College).[3] The team posted a 5-20 record its first official year in 1976-77. From the 1940s through the 70s, basketball had existed as a club under Oregon State's Women's Recreation Association (WRA).[4] At of the outset of the 2015-2016 season, the team's overall record was 580-550.
