Numerican Nation: A Self Portrait

Numerican Nation: A Self Portrait is a book written by John Harris in 2005. The story is a mainly autobiographical work and commentary on U.S. politics.

Mr. Harris traces his maternal roots back to the Native American population living along the Catawba river in Kershaw County, South Carolina; and his paternal roots to the plantations of White Oak and Flat Rock.

He further postulates that the racial identity of "the colored people", is more accurately categorized as "Numerican", "a spiritual people borne of slavery"; acknowledging the cross breeding practices of the plantation owners over an extended period of time (250 years or 15 generations to use a conservative estimate).
