Now That's What I Call Music! 36 or Now 36 was released on 24 March 1997 on audio cassette and Compact Disc. The album is the 36th edition of the (UK) Now! series.
Now 36 features eight songs which reached number one on the UK Singles Chart: "Mama", "Don't Speak", "Your Woman", "A Different Beat", "Discotheque", "Breathe", "Block Rockin' Beats" and "Beetlebum".
Different mixes of The Source song "You Got the Love" also appeared on Now 19 from 1991 and again on Now 63 from 2006 (two cover versions of this song also appear on other Now albums).
