Hajjah Normala Abdul Samad is a prominent figure in the community. She is an activist who promote human rights and eradication of poverty. She is also a member of the Pasir Gudang town community council.[1]

Education background

Normala has a Diploma in Personnel Management (MIPM), Certificate in Training & Development, Certificate in Safety & Health Management (NIOSH), Professional Diploma in Safety & Health Management (consist), Bachelor of Business Management, Paramaount University of Technology[2] and Master of Business Administration, Nottingham University.[3]

Koperasi Seri Cempaka Pasir Gudang Bhd

Normala is the founder and current Chairman of Koperasi Seri Cempaka Pasir Gudang Bhd, which is a co-operation run by local women in Pasir Gudang. Normala stated that her aim in creating this co-operation is to enhance the spirit entrepreneurship and helping local women to gain knowledge about running a legitimate business to help the economy of their families. The main business run by these women are sewing, producing memorabilia, wedding apparel, cooking classes and catering.[4]

Political affiliation

Normala is an active UMNO Johor member. She was chosen by Barisan Nasional to contest in her home town Pasir Gudang in the upcoming 13th Malaysian General Election.[5]
