The Hon. Nicola Dahrendorf is a British government and United Nations official, and an expert on sexual violence, human rights and security sector reform. She is currently the UN Special Advisor on sexual violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo,[1] and has also served as Director of the Office for Addressing Sexual Exploitation and Abuse, Director of the Conflict Security and Development Group at King's College, London,[2] as the West Africa Regional Conflict Adviser to the British Government,[3] and as the national security adviser to the UN administration in East Timor.[4]
She has extensive field experience, in particular with the United Nations in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia, East Timor and Congo. She has studied social anthropology and law, and has extensive experience in the areas of governance, human rights and security sector reform.[3]
She is the daughter of Lord Dahrendorf.
