Nariman “Ina” Ambolodto is the 2016 Philippine election senatorial candidate of the Bangsamoro political entity, running under the banner of the Liberal Party to fight for peace and prosperity under one nation of Muslims, Christians, and Lumads.

Biography

Ambolodto has experienced war first-hand, which has left her with the conviction that war is unacceptable. While she has faced the worst of armed conflict, even being forced to flee to the evacuation centers as a young girl, the experience prepared her for a life of service, leadership, and work for peace.

Ambolodto believes that the Bangsamoro Basic Law is the best solution the Filipino people currently have for solving the war in Mindanao to finally bring peace and progress to the country, having, as it does, the right provisions to address the many issues the country has to face to end the long-running armed conflict.

Owing to Ambolodto’s personal experience, academic credentials, and professional capability, she was invited to join the Benigno Aquino III administration by the late Jesse Robredo as Assistant Secretary of the DILG, where she ably assisted Robredo in his work as a champion of grassroots governance.

Ambolodto was selected by PNoy himself to be the representative of the Bangsamoro in the senatorial slate of the former's anti-corruption Daang Matuwid (Straight Path) movement. As such, she vowed to lead and serve the people "without hesitation and with courage and conviction, and to fight for peace and prosperity for a united Filipino nation of all faiths and ethnic origin."
