Trivia

It's interesting that Branko Strupar, a Belgian international and a well known Premiership player, started his career at NK Špansko. In those years Špansko were a strong second division club and Strupar a neighbourhood hero. From ŠRC Špansko Strupar moved to the Belgian side K.R.C. Genk.

It is also interesting to know that Strupar is a native of the Prečko, a rival neighbourhood. Prečko is located on the south of Špansko, directly next to it.
