n.y.d.c. Café & Restaurants is a restaurant chain based in Singapore, serving a menu based on recipes for homemade soups, breads, pastas, pizzas, cookies, pies, ice cream, mud pies, cheesecakes and special cake recipes that have been in their founder’s family for generations. n.y.d.c. is the acronym for New York Dessert Cafe. It was founded in 1995 by the husband-and-wife team of Max and Ally Sinclair.
At the company's height, they operated six outlets at Holland Village, Suntec City, Wheelock Place, Bugis Junction and the Heeren Shops (2 outlets). Their most recent outlet at the Heeren Level 5 Altitude was the n.y.d.c. Diner, which together with the Suntec City outlet has now closed due to adverse business conditions, leaving them with only 3 outlets. n.y.d.c. has garnered numerous awards, and the press has given much attention to its food.
The Sinclairs are American citizens and are currently busy with a US-based offshoot of n.y.c.d., dubbed n.y.d.c. Chocolate, which makes a line of fudge products called "Cocopotamus". NYDC IS NOW FULLY CLOSED IN SINGAPORE.NYDC Vietnam outlets are still open.In 26/7/2016 NYDC announced that they will close their chain of restaurant in Saigon because of annual loss and high competition in the region.
