Morten Nødgaard Albæk (born July 28, 1975) is a Danish philosopher, business person, author and public speaker. He is the founder and Executive Chairman of a Danish investment and advisory firm, Voluntas A/S.
Academia
Albaek holds a master's degree in History and Philosophy from Aarhus University. In 2008, he was named an Honorary Professor in Philosophy and Education at Aalborg University.[1] He is further the co-founder of the first Institute for Applied Philosophy in the Nordic region.
Career
Albæk started his career in Danske Bank,[2] Denmark's largest financial institution, undertaking various marketing and business development functions before being appointed as SVP for the department for Idea Generation & Innovation. At Danske Bank, he pioneered the Financial Literacy Program, later to be included as a case in the UN Global Compact’s yearbook of 2011.[3][4]
In 2009, Albaek joined Vestas, the largest wind turbine company in the world, as Group SVP for Global Marketing, Communication & Corporate Relations and a member of the Executive Committee.[5] At Vestas, he envisioned and developed WindMade, the world’s first global consumer label identifying products produced with wind energy – the first consumer label to be endorsed by the United Nations.[6] Additionally, Morten Albæk launched Wind for Prosperity,[7] a business model bringing affordable and reliable electricity to impoverished and remote rural, but wind rich populations.[8]
In 2015, Albaek founded investment and advisory firm Voluntas (Latin for “will, purpose, goal, meaning”) specialized in purposeful investment strategies and meaningful strategy and policy development. Voluntas is the world’s first investment and advisory firm to systematically measure and consult on meaningfulness, diversity, and sustainability in the companies invested in.
Aside from serving as founder and Executive Chairman of Voluntas, he serves as a member of the board of international lifestyle brand ILSE JACOBSEN, and as the chairman of Shamballa Jewels, global front-runner in spiritual fine jewelry, and Vertic, a global leading independent digital agency. Further, he is a part of the advisory board of Holly and Sam Branson’s foundation Big Change.

Albaek is a frequent participant in Danish public life on a variety of topics and is the co-author of three books Generation Fucked Up? (2005),[9] Encounters Between What You Say and What You Do (2008)[10] and The Average Human Being..[11][12]
Merits
In addition to his academic and professional merits, Morten Albaek has – as the only Scandinavian – been selected 5 times for The Internationalist’s list of the “100 Most Influential CMOs in the World” (in 2011-2015).[13] Further, Albaek was selected for Fast Company’s list of the “1,000 most creative people in business” in 2014 – a list that also includes names like Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, and Marissa Mayer.[14]
