Montreux Business University (MBU) is a private university located in Montreux, Vaud, at the foot of the Alps and on the shores of Lake Geneva, in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. MBU privides a range of on-site programs: Bachelor's, Master's, MBA, Executive MBA, DBA (Doctor of Business Administration), whereas it also conducting courses through online studies. All courses are conducted in English by international and multicultural faculty.
History
Established in 2011 as Montreux Business School, it was renamed in October 2015 to Montreux Business University after receiving an accreditation of Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).
The institution is housed in a Belle Époque building that first opened its doors as a hotel in the 19th century.
Programs
- Undergraduate degrees: BSc (Bachelor of Science)consists of 3 years programs focused on: finance, marketing, human resources and international business administration.[1]
- Graduate degrees: MSc (Master of Science). This program (1 year + 6 months internship) is aimed to broaden the business and human-centered skills of our students, as well as cover the main functional areas of management to offer a cohesive understanding of management and businesses.[2]
- Postgraduate degrees: MBA (Master of Business Administration)of 1 year is taking a holistic approach to business and management development, presents program of organizational functional areas that include marketing, operations, finance and human resources in international focus.[3]
- Executive degrees: EMBA (Executive Master of Business Administration) is aimed for working professionals, who are attending both online classes and local seminars, without quitting their jobs. It takes 14 month and consists of 2 block teaching per month. Altogether, EMBA students are only three days away from the office per month.[4]
- DBA (Doctor in Business Administration)is expected to be completed within 3 to 5 years of part-time study; the program must be completed within a five-year period maximum. It consists of the following stages: MSB Research Methodology and Project Design Course; thesis proposal, appointment of thesis advisor; knowledge contribution.[5]
- Online education: both BSc and MSc degrees are available thrugh online studies.[6]
Accreditations & Memberships
Montreux Business University is a fully accredited member of the ACBSP (Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs).[7]
MBU is the first university in Switzerland being certified by both ISO 9001: 2000 [8] and ISO 29990 (Learning Services for Education and Training)[9] MBU is a registered member of AACSB International (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development) and CEEMAN (Central and East European Management Development Association), recorded in the Swiss Private School register [10]
