Modiri Marumo (born 6 July 1976)[1] is a Botswanan footballer who currently plays for South African club Polokwane City. He signed with the South African side Bay United in August 2010,[2] and previously played for the Egyptian side Haras El Hodood, moving there from Botswana Defence Force in February 2008.[3] Marumo also plays for the Botswana national side. In May 2003, Marumo was sent off during a penalty shootout against Malawi in a 1/4 final of the COSAFA Senior Challenge Cup.[4] He was the starting goalkeeper for Botswana in their maiden appearance in an African Cup of Nations tournament and played in all three group stage matches.[5] Marumo retired from international football after the tournament.[6]
