Modified Arts
Modified Arts is an art gallery, music and performance space in Downtown Phoenix, AZ. The gallery is part of the Roosevelt Row Arts District. Owner Kimber Lanning opened Modified Arts in 1999 as a live music and performance space. Musicians such as Kristin Hersh, Arcade Fire, and Why? performed there.[1] In 2010, Kim Larkin and Adam Murray (Larkin & Murray LLC) took over Modified Arts as Director and Associate Director, respectively. At that time the focus of gallery changed to more visual and performance art with fewer bands and musicians. In 2010, Larkin and Murray stepped down from running the gallery.[2] In Dec. 2011, Curator/Artist Jeff Chabot took over as Director & Curator of Modified Arts.[3] Chabot's focus has been on exhibiting contemporary art such as photography, installation, printmaking, sculpture, drawing, painting, video, and mixed media.
