Mitchell D. Weiss (born 1986) is an American fine art photographer, specializing in studio and candid portraiture. Weiss' career has included editorial photography for the Boston Globe,[1] portraiture for national advertising campaigns [2] and art installations for corporate functions.[3] Weiss also served as gallery director of Boston's Piano Factory.[4]
In 2012, Weiss was featured at Boston's Flash Forward Festival curated by Eunice Hurd of the Robert Klein Gallery[5][6] and began guest lecturing at the Boston Center for Adult Education[7][8] and Open Show: New York.[9] Weiss was a semifinalist for Hasselblad's 2012 Masters series that celebrates the best in both established and rising photographic talent.[10]
In November 2013, Humble Hues published a fine art book titled Dogs in Thought, which features Mitch Weiss' photographs and benefits the MSPCA-Angell and the Animal Rescue League of Boston.[11][12]
To honor Lady Gaga's advocacy for gay rights and AIDS awareness, Weiss submitted a portrait of Lady Gaga to Boston's ARTcetera in 2011.[13][14]
